Default For my Christmas Elf I have bought

two of these.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NATURAL-MUSLIN...item3ef664c8ff

I know it could be sewn easily but since I am busy until the 29th I thought I would cut out some of the work. I want to give it a cute face. Any sugestions on this and also the ears. I have the fabric to make a dark green tunic, stripey red leggings, green hat and stuff. I have red felt/blaack felt/white felt too. Haven't got a bleedin' clue how yet, but I know one of you lovely ladeez will help.

Obviously I have to make it's sleeping bag & passport too!!!!

I would use a teardrop shape for the ears, and to even the colour out, brush the face and ears with pale blusher.
I would embroider the face, using white ovals (length-ways) for the eyes, then a black pupil that could look forward, or you could make him look to the side.
A small bobble made from red felt for the nose, and a nice embroidered smiley mouth. Put a darker blusher on the cheeks.

Hope that helps xxx

Coffee gives a softer colour.
If you think they'll go in the tumble dryer you could bath them in instant coffee with a dash of vanilla. Give them a good rinse and wring and bung them in the tumble dryer.
If you think they can't, try some wetting some cotton wool in the same mix, and wipe a bit on where it won't show much, if you like it, carry on all over.
I've died fabric this way and it looks fine, though a bit patchy and "grungy", but I like that look.
