morning angel, i know it's not long until i go food shopping once again *snigger*

Well i have to say i'm bliddy well fed up of having to make end meet. Just had my water bill in and it's £395 just for little ole me, i used to have a water meter in my old house which was cheaper but i got so obsessed with saving money i wouldn't let anyone flush the loo if they only peed and i only had strip washes and only bathed when i was on my aunty flo. Looks like i'll be going back to what i called my 1940's days.

Luckily i managed to get a bed from littlewoods on a buy now pay later, unfortunately it costs a lot more but hey i suffer from a bad back so need a decent bed. My new sofa is so uncomfortable, i wished i never bought it (again from the catalogue).

I just wished there was an employer out there that would take me on but it seems if you've been unemployed for a year you're on the scrapheap.

Sorry for the moan, i don't normally let money worries affect me, i just cut back and down on things like treats and food but this water bill is ridiculous and we're one of the cheapest areas in the country so goodness knows how you ladies in the south cope.

On to a happier and lighter note i'm going to paint my dolls' house bathroom today, it is of course going to be laura ashley (blue and pink), if only my real room was small enough to be painted with a tester pot hahahahaha

Have a lovely day everyone

Awww sparklebug - sorry to hear about your job woes. I know my OH has job worries at the moment and although I think we'd be ok finance wise (only due to having a rented house and still getting tax credits, not cos we are rich!) I do worry if he ends up being out of work for a long time. Such a destroyer of souls.

I'm feeling ill today so having a lazy day, completely full of cold. Thankfully when my oh had it it only lasted a day or so so fingers crossed I'll be better tomorrow. I'm hoping the postie will deliver some treats so keep me occupied I must be the last one to get it but finally ordered CK Sew the other day. Hope it comes today.

Did someone say it's a birthday day tomorrow? Or did I misunderstand?

Morning xxx

Sparkle, have you queried it because it seems very very high to me.

I'm on a meter, use the washing machine almost daily, bath every night etc etc and my recent bills were £39.70 for water supply and £64.21 for sewage. That's for a quarter. I'm assuming yours is for a year? If so, can't you pay quarterly?

Hope you get it sorted xx

hiya dimity, yes the bill was for a year but even paying monthly or quarterly i still can't afford the payments as my income is only £55 per week. I submitted a meter request this morning so hopefully i'll have cheaper water soon.

I now know why my sofa was so bliddy uncomfortable, i sat on it and it went CLUNK and now sags in the middle. I've emailed littlewoods so hopefully they'll sort it out soon, i should have stayed with my old uncomfortable sofa lol.

Still i had a treat at lunchtime, my mum came over with scones and clotted cream, very delish.

Hello my lovely sugar dumplings xxxxxxx

Been to the nurse practitioner today for BTs. I loath BTs, terrified of jections, but know I need them done.
What do you think??? She couldn't find a vein got to go back next Wednesday now. Me and my blummin awkward arms, my veins are so deep it's always hit & miss, so now if it's going to be miss I wait until they are sure it's a hit
She did give me piriton though, for my itchy spots I've got from a reaction to tablets. Why on earth do they need to load blister-pack tablets with florescent yellow colour is beyond me

SB, check that your water company has got the ratable value correct, it sounds like you're being billed for more than your share of the building. We're with SevernTrent, and our bill is half that for a whole house. We also pay monthly by DD, just 8 months of the year. which means when it's colder, the WR are already paid and we have a bit extra for heating/Christmas.

Off to find my photo thread now cos I have some new pics

Have a lovely day everyone xxxxxxxx

Are you on a water meter SB?

Do you have a shower? We fitted an eaga water saving thingy to ours .... took seconds and it was free. Will look for link if you DO have a shower. Have you put a brick/milk bottle/whatever in your loo cistern to save on water?
