Default Dads 90th birthday scrapbook project

I have the kit, I have some ideas, but would really welcome your help too.

First thought for a page is "90 reasons why I love you"

I'm thinking find a nice font and print out on good quality paper, but would appreciate ideas how to place it on the page. Obviously I'd have to cut them all separately, do you think those wavy edged scissors would be ok?

I wonder if I could attach them in a large 90 shape IYKWIM ? What adhesive do you use? Any nice fonts out there?

One thing I MUST do is take my time and do a rough layout of everything I do.

I think 90 reasons why you love your dad will be lovely xxx
But you need Debbie or someone else who knows their scrappy stuff
(def not me - paper scares me lol!!)
btw - love that you have such a good relationship with your dad..prior to Christmas I would perhaps have found 9 reasons why I love my dad but he p!ssed on those..so reckon I could manage 1 now!!!!!
(and thats for being at the conception of me and my brother so we can live lovely lives )

You're not alone BM3, I'm sure my children have the same opinion of their father (and I use that term loosely) sad innit.

I've had an idea for another page. I've printed off a template for a tree and I also have some softish foamy type hearts. I am going to write the names of the family on these to place amongst the leaves.

Serious question now. My niece had a beautiful stillborn son, he's never been forgotten. I intend to include him on there too, do you think I could cause upset? On the other hand I think I could cause upset if I leave him off.

Dimi what a gorgeous thoughtful idea for your Dad. Could you maybe ask your neice, or ask her Mum to broach the subject with her, if she would like her stillborn son to be included. Something along the lines of ......' I would love to include baby ....... but won't if it would upset you' ? XX

It will probably bring emotions to the surface and cause a few tears Dims but he is part of your family and certainly think he deserves to be there ....lovely lovely thought xx

My niece visited this week and I asked if it would be ok if I put baby on the scrapbook family tree. "I'd have been very offended if you'd left him off" she said. Actually I'd already put him on there.

OK, another problem.

I'm battling on with dad's scrapbook but finding when I've finished a page it's very "curly" after the paper layering/glueing. Is this normal? I'm using the papers in the QVC kit so I would have thought they'd be ok? Do you have to put them under heavy books or something?

Clutterfree have you started on yours yet?

Dimity you should be ok putting the pages straight into the clear sleeves - the weight of the album should flatten them all out

Are you enjoying doing it? Thats the main part and i find it flows a lot better if im enjoying what im making

Enjoying it? Yes at times though last night one of the reasons I couldn't sleep was because of today's layout! Daft eh.

I think most of what I've done looks very amateurish and once I've finished a page I seem to get different ideas and wished I'd done it another way!

The QVC kit is fantastic. I went to The Range yesterday and realised how much value I had in that box. There was a contents list inside and there's 8000 items.
