Default Knitting Advice

I'd like to knit this pattern - a baby blanket

http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/pat...&key=&x=15&y=8

I've worked out that the knitting needles are Old UK 3 or 6.5mm (I really only understand old UK knitting needle sizes - none of this decimal stuff) BUT what would equate to the Pound of Love cotton yarn?

When I see yarn I'm not sure of on a pattern, I tend to go with what I would normally use for the needle size.
It sounds like chunky to me.

Hi Sandie

I'd suggest something like Rowan's All Season cotton if you can find it. It should knit up to a similar tension as the pound of love, but do a tension square first to be sure.
