i wonder if any of you would be interested in doing a fabric strip swap?
i have a plan to make a large quilt as a very special gift and would love to include a big a variety of fabrics as possiable. - the recipient of the quilt comes on here sometimes, so i dont want to say too much ![]() My stash is quite big so i have lots to share. or i would be happy to swap something else if you are not addicted to the strip patchwork like i am currently! i like to include quite narrow strips so anything over 1/2 inch wide would be great - this could be a great way to get rid of the tiny scaps you have never chucked out but dont think you will ever use! |

Sounds interesting Mitty .... how about going one step further and swapping completed blocks too ??? We will all have such a different variety.

I was thinking of having a bash, so I'd love to have a sort out and send some. Be nice to think it has lots of our little bits included xxx

I'm guessing one of two people, and I'm so excited for them, because either would be a fab recipient. I wonder if I'm right! I think that sounds really wonderful anyway.
I'd love to swap with you. How long should the strips be? And how on earth can you make a 1/2 inch strip work? ![]() ![]()

![]() for me i can use anything over 1 1/2 inches long, and as i use a firm backing fabric i can get away with narrow seam allowances of 1/4 of a inch so thats how i use the very narrow bits ![]() |

for mine i am using a cotton backing fabric, but i think others are trying it out with paper backing. again in mine i am using a bit of red fabric in each block so they have a common theame, but TG had used shades of brown and blue in her blocks, so i think swapping strips of fabric may be easier this time - although i love your idea, and would love to have a quilt with each square from a different person - perhaps we can put our thinking caps on and find a way to make this work ![]() |
