Default Couldn't resist this .... could I????

On the school run this morning this was in the window of the CS ..... my old ticker started pounding and I said to Jess I've gotta have that ..... she rolled her eyes as usual and said where are you going to put it. Good question. So I told myself if it was still there later today it was meant to be ... if it was gone c'est la vie.

Guess what! It was still there and for a fiver I am now the proud owner of a wicker crib and stand.

Now for the makeover bit ..... I am really thinking it needs to be painted .... does anyone have any recommendations on what sort of paint I can use bearing in mind it is for a nursery ??? Any suggestions gratefully received.

I will be making some pretty bedding to go with it at a later date.

Wow, I can't wait to see the makeover - fab. I'd have been tempted. If you're doing it to resell, I think you'll make a killing.
Can't advise re paints though. Would have to be non-toxic, wouldn't they. I'd be tempted to leave as is and decorate with fabric trimmings. But I'm sure there are safe paints you can use.

WOW what a bargain! I'd be inclined to leave it as it is too.

It would make pretty storage for folded fabrics!

That is gorjus I would have bought it too

Actually am kicking myself as at the weekend in a mahoovsive CS there was a vintage red child's iron cot, for 8 squids, I REALLY wanted it. I was thinking of paying the CS the 8 squids and letting them use it for display but knowing it was all mine It would have looked lovely in one of the loft bedrooms with the children's toys and pretties in. If it would have fitted in, of course I don't think about things like shall it fit.

But transportation may have been a problem as couldn't see how it would have come apart. Got chatting to the lovely old lady there and she said she had just sold one of those, which I wouldn't remember little silver money boxes for ha-pennies and thrupenny bits, and it came with a little key, but to get any money out you would have had to go to the bank because they kept the key. I like that idea

X
