Well, after doing my posting about preferring F&B paint I went back to my project (with my glasses on!!) and realised I'd have to do another coat. That makes two coats of primer/undercoat and THREE of F&B. This was only over stripped pine so quite disappointing. I am going to try Dulux next time.

Cor that is a lot of coats! I'd give dulux or b&q/homebase own a go.
What colour/type of paint was that rose_sparky?

It was F&B stone colour. I love the colour, reminds me of 1950's painted kitchens.

Thats what I have done before...found paint colour or even fabric and taken it to the colour match section of Dulux and got a good size 250ml pot mixed for 99p....this is for painting items/furniture not walls lol.....I find Dulux absolutely fine...I definitely wouldn't pay the prices of some of these other makes....but thats what I do if I can thrift it somehow I will

I have something I need to paint but I want to do it on the cheap.

Take a sample of it to Dulux (B&Q) and they will mix it for you...can get them to do a sample first
